Objectives

A complete course on all aspects of the repair of domestic fridges and freezers. On completion of this course the learner will be able to seek work opportunities or become self employed in domestic refrigeration repair.

Outcomes

The learner will be competent to repair all aspects including the fundamentals of refrigeration, identification and function of components, tooling and instrumentation, safe handling of R134a and R600a refrigerants, the removal of the refrigerants, leak testing, compressor replacement, evacuation, repairs, brazing, refrigerant charging, electrical aspects including safety, wiring diagrams, tools and instruments, testing and compressor starting components. Full workshop training component.

Duration

2 weeks, Monday to Friday, from 08h30 to 15h00.
