TRAINING OVERVIEW

The Academy has the resources to train all aspects of the Air conditioning and refrigeration fields up to level 5. The emphasis is in the training of apprentices/learnerships, artisans and technicians as well as aspects for management requiring technical knowledge. The training is specialised to the fields of air conditioning and refrigeration.

 

The training is competency based, meaning, any student attending a course is given an in depth theoretical

knowledge and the practical skills in order to achieve competency in the workplace.

 

Given the nature of the training required all courses have a full practical element. The aim of all the training is such that on successful completion of any particular course the student will be capable to do the job as required. The industries professional institute and controlling bodies will be consulted in order to achieve consistently high standards.

 

The training format has been developed around the requirements of the various businesses, as well as to conform to the latest methods in training techniques.

The training is flexible in order for the employer to lay down the training requirements best suited for his environment and any time and money spent on unnecessary training can be avoided.

 

We furthermore, have an established network of clients who allow us full access to fully operational air conditioning and refrigeration plants (Many of large capacity) and therefore are the only Training provider with access to Any/All Types of operational Air Conditioning systems. This is an invaluable tool in the practical training of learners, ensures quality training, and enables us to conduct valid assessments.

 

Should the necessary equipment required for training or assessments not be available at a workplace providers site we are able to address the deficit and ensure the learner receives all the exposure / training as required by the qualification. We believe that we are the only provider with the capacity to perform this function.

We conduct some of the specialised training with Automotive Air conditioning services RMI, City and GUILDS and ACRICSA.

 

We have all necessary documentation in place including: The monitoring process, the full set of documentation regarding assessments, the requirements for workplace providers, the training material and the documents necessary to manage the learner ships.

 

We have the capacity to not only train the candidates but also to monitor the learner ship, assess all standards necessary, and to manage the learner ships.

 

We have at this point seven assessors.

We can conduct any assessment as may be required by the full scope of the standards.

We where nominated by MERSETA as lead training provider to conduct the necessary training and to manage and monitor the Level 2 pilot projects and therefore have intimate knowledge of the requirements of the companies, the learners and the SETA.
