HISTORY
In 1960 Spoornet opened the Spoornet air conditioning and
refrigeration training centre. Spoornet’s restructuring
resulted in the privatisation of the training facility in
August 1998,
thus opening the doors of the Air Conditioning and
Refrigeration Academy. The ACADEMY bought out
equipment and expertise from the Eskom training centre,
Carrier and the ABI training centre. The Academy is a
registed company.
The Staff have trained students
from the entire industry and have achieved international
status training people from several of the southern African
countries as well as Accreditation from the U.K. based City
and Guilds as well as the CITB. We furthermore conduct all
Rau's post graduate practical training.
The ACADEMY became an accredited external trade testing
centre in 2003.
